A model with deliberate boundaries
The app uses a native SwiftUI and SpriteKit interface with a versioned Swift simulation core. Physics advances at a fixed step; renderers consume snapshots. The current presentation is 2.5D and uses reduced-order response, not a full computational-fluid-dynamics model or a calibrated digital twin.
Seven configurations, not seven endorsements
The fleet uses published reference dimensions where available and separately authored estimates for operating mass and hydrodynamic response. Generic names on this website identify simulator configurations. No boat manufacturer sponsors or endorses BerthLab, and reference dimensions do not establish real-world maneuvering accuracy.
A replay should remain the attempt you made
Stored trajectories are not silently recomputed under a newer model. The website export is a schematic rendering of selected recorded samples, with a maximum 90-second source interval. It does not reproduce the app’s detailed water material or claim to be a screen recording. All intervals are identified; a fragment is not passed off as full course completion.
How editorial content is created
Launch practice notes are authored from the app’s implemented curriculum, control behavior, data model and stated limits. They are reviewed as product explanations, not written by an identified certified instructor or validated in sea trials. New public videos receive deterministic telemetry notes, then a separate moderation review. We do not invent player sessions to populate empty channels.
What gets indexed
A public replay is considered for search only after the uploader opts in and a moderator adds a substantial, distinct explanation. Keyword categories come from actual vessel and lesson identifiers. We avoid generating every possible boat-and-lesson combination as a thin landing page. No search ranking or AI-answer inclusion is guaranteed.
Corrections and questions
Use berthlab@txyou.com to report an incorrect product description, a privacy concern or a misleading public replay. We update this page and the relevant articles when the implementation or explanation changes. Published article dates reflect editorial changes, not automatic daily timestamp updates.
