THE THING TO NOTICE
A useful replay shows the boat, the scenario and the recorded decisions. BerthLab’s web video is a schematic rendering of stored trajectory samples, not a screen recording or an AI-generated reconstruction of a successful docking.
What is preserved
The app records physical snapshots and control events during an attempt. Native replay uses those stored samples. The website-sharing export renders the same recorded positions and angles into a compact video; it does not run a new physics simulation, invent intermediate decisions or substitute a generated successful path.
What a web clip leaves out
A web clip is limited to at most 90 seconds around a selected key moment. It may not show the complete attempt, and its schematic art is intentionally simpler than the app’s water renderer. The source interval, full attempt duration and attempt kind are displayed so viewers can interpret it correctly.
What the review notes mean
The service generates factual notes from a restricted telemetry schema: clip duration, recorded speed range, input changes and named events. These are deterministic rules, not an instructor’s evaluation. Moderator notes are separately labeled. User-submitted outcomes and telemetry have not been independently certified by the server.
Choose publication, not automatic exposure
Normal learning stays on your device. Website sharing is optional and requires a separate upload action and consent. Personal reflections, original record identifiers, purchases and account details are excluded from this export. Save the private management link to check review status or withdraw the upload. Search-engine visibility requires an additional opt-in and editorial approval.

This note describes BerthLab’s versioned simulator and recorded-replay behavior, reviewed against the Pilot Edition source. It is not an independently validated on-water training method.
